Highlights of Bulgaria

Your tour starts directly from Sofia airport whence you will be transferred to your hotel. After that you will have free time and overnight in Sofia.

On the next day meet your driver, who will take you to the town of Troyan, famous with its traditional pottery. Follow your tour to the nearby Troyan Monastery the third largest one in Bulgaria, founded in the 16th century . More importantly the Troyan Monastery is also a home of one of the holiest icons the Three-Handed Virgin which is considered to be miracle. Take a time for a lunch and drive away to Veliko Tarnovo.

Veliko Tarnovo was the third Bulgarian capital in the period of 12th-14th century, however nowadays is a very romantic and beautiful city. Walk the Ethnographic Street of Samovodska charshia, where you will see some local craftsmen work and their products. Make sure to taste the coffee prepared on hot sand and the local delights. Don’t forget to buy some souvenirs. In addition visit the Tsarevets fortress located on a hill with the same name. Be careful climbing up and down and enjoy the beautiful view. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

On the following day visit the following spots – the Ethnographic Complex of Etara, Gabrovo, Thracian Tomb of Kazalak, the Rose museum and finish your tour in the gorgeous city of Plovdiv.

On the next day explore the old town of Plovdiv as much as possible. Take your time and have delicious lunch, because in the afternoon a long transfer to the Rila monastery waits for you. Rila Monastery is the biggest one in Bulgaria, stunning and moreover included in the UNESCO World List Heritage.

In the late afternoon transfer back to Sofia for overnight in Sofia.

On your last day and depending on your flight schedule scroll down some city streets in Sofia. Thereafter transfer to the airport and end of program.
