Your tour starts in the morning at 08:00 from your hotel in Sofia, by private car and with English speaking driver. The distance from Sofia to Plovdiv is about150 km and it takes approximately 2 hours to get there.

Upon arrival start your trip by foot in the old town, full of historical buildings, many churches, galleries, museums, craft and souvenirs shops. Don’t miss to visit the Ancient Theater dating back the 1st century A.D. Today. Above all this theater is adapted to the contemporary cultural life of the city. In this connection different performances and concerts take place here.

Make sure to stop at the museum houses of Balabanov, Hindlian, Klianti and Nedkovich, built in the early years of 19th century. Inside the houses you could see representations of the life of local rich people. In other words if you are more interested in the culture, folklore and customs of that period, take your time and visit the Regional Ethnographic Museum.

Most importantly for art lovers is the fact that there are a couple of galleries and especially interesting is the Permanent exhibition of Zlatyu Boyadzhiev.

Finally we would like to recommend you to see the recently discovered Bishop`s Basilica of Philippopolis which has well preserved and gorgeous Roman mosaics. Since 2018, this Basilica of has been included in the UNESCO Cultural and Natural Heritage Tentative list.
