The tour starts at 08:00 in the morning from your hotel lobby. Meet there our English speaking driver who will take you on an exciting journey. Therefore you will need a convenient walking shoes.
Despite the long transfer time from Sofia to Veliko Tarnovo, you will get an intriguing and educational experience. There will be enough time for exploring the old capital of Bulgaria and of course for shopping on the famous Samovodka Charshia street.
Upon arrival visit the Tsarevets palace-fortress. Tour the hilltop ruins, including the main church and execution rock in order to discover the ancient town’s history. From the top enjoy the picturesque view to Yantra river and the unique architecture of Veliko Tarnovo. Then scroll down and find a place to try the local dishes.
Don’t miss to visit the Samovodka Charshia street where you will see some old preserved customs and crafts and enjoy shopping of local souvenirs.
In the afternoon visit the village of Arbanassi, famous for its traditional old houses, taverns and churches. Do your best to visit the Nativity Church. This church has wonderful well preserved frescoes, dating back to the 16th century.
Finally but not last enjoy a cup of aromatic coffee, combined with a local dessert in one of cafes with a spectacular view.
In the late afternoon return to Sofia. Expected arrival is at about 19:00.
